Man in the Van with a Plan: Saskia wrote for a family friend and fiddler who decided to grow his beard to Old-man-of-the-woods length, and live in a camper van off grid. Endless admiration from us!
Maggie's Pancakes we learned from a session in Vienna though it's written by Stuart Morison from The Tannahill Weavers. It's normally played up a 5th but we like the groove of it in E minor.
Splendid Isolation was written by Brendan McGlinchey who tells the story that he went to a session, and they wouldn't give him the time of day, so he went to the washroom and wrote this tune. We play it in G minor.
